Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal, India
country: India

The Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal is a premier institution in India known for its strong focus on science education and research. With top faculty, world-class infrastructure, and an interdisciplinary curriculum, it provides students with a solid foundation in various scientific disciplines while promoting early research engagement. Offering international collaborations, government funding, and scholarships, IISER Bhopal ensures quality education at low costs, preparing graduates for successful careers in academia, industry, and research.
IISER will be responsible for implementation of the debris cover effect in CISSEMBEL for SMB computation in mountainous regions (e.g. High Mountain Asia) in collaboration with DMI. The team will conduct high-resolution, dynamically coupled glacier-climate model simulations for the Karakoram-Himalaya region using REMOglacier/RESM and utilize robust PIML techniques to downscale from basin level (0.11° ~12km) to glacial level (0.01° ~1km). Integrating the debris cover effect into CISSEMBEL enhances glacier representation in ESMs by linking the atmosphere and glaciated surfaces.
