University of Bristol

Bristol Glaciology Centre is one of the leading institutes in the UK working on glaciers, ice sheet and biogeochemistry in extreme environments. The centre has around 5 faculty, 8 PhD and 8 post-doc researchers working on both ice sheets and global and regional glacier change.

The University of Bristol is responsible for developing consistent mass balance time series for the ice sheets covering Antarctica and Greenland and for the more than 250,000 glaciers around the world. They are also responsible for developing improved projections of glaciers trends over the next century and looking at how climate change will affect river flow from seasonal snow melt.
